I’ve had a busy month… firstly getting my Collection 1 for 2017 wound, photographed and uploaded and then secondly when I decided to do a Free Shipping Sale with the purchase of a Red or Pink yarn to celebrate the love of Valentines. It’s been a run away success and since the launch of the sale on February 14th I’ve been busy dyeing! So, no wonder my musings here (and other pursuits) have been neglected.
I still have a few days to go – It ends on Feb 28th. So there’s still time to take advantage of the Free shipping 🙂
I recently had to go to the UK in rather unhappy circumstances… I closed my Etsy shop and worked hard to get those outstanding orders out the door. I’m now back and attempting to pick up where I left off, and in my absence my wonderful husband converted the dilapidated workshop behind the garage into my shiny (well not that shiny) new Dye Studio! He used recycled wood and salvaged stuff wherever he could and hey presto! There it was on my return!
Yesterday I used it for the first time – radio on, and the sun shining in (he even put up blinds in case the sun got too hot)! More of what I dyed up coming soon.
I love it and anticipate many happy hours out there. Thank you Mr. Wonderful!
One of the reasons I love commissions is that they can take you in a totally different direction than you would choose for yourself… But one that you find enjoyable and in this case happy! A Sunny Happy yellow.
Later today I’ll be having a small update in my Etsy shop … I think of it as pre -Spring (although we’re already in the throes of the Season). Featuring some new colors in my new sock yarn as well as my luxury silks – Blackbirds in Flight (a deep rich aubergine), Honey Mustard (Mustardseed on the Sock) and The Mermaids Tale (a variegated yarn with blues and greens).
While I wait for a new shipment of yarn to arrive for my Spring collection I’ve been working on some ideas I’ve had on the back burner for a while… And the effects are somewhat interesting!
The two at the front are the same recipe and really show the difference a fibre can make to the Color – the right version is White Cloud (a gorgeously soft merino and silk yarn) and the blue/green one on the left is Rainflower lace – the colour effect on this yarn is stunning!.
